A big congratulations to all winners, runners-ups and participants! It has been a very challenging year and we greatly appreciate the time put into all the pieces submitted. The competition judges and organisers have been deeply impressed by the quality and effort displayed by all participants.
The team of judges included specialists in writing, speaking, art and social media.
All entrants will receive a certificate to acknowledge their participation and all winners and runners-up will receive a prize pack.
Thanks again to those who supported the participants in the first Victorian Speaking 4 the Planet Competition. We would welcome feedback, even if you didn't have a student or child participate in this year's program through our teacher/parent survey.
Speaking 4 the Planet is an Arts-based approach to sustainability. This inaugural event invited participants to reflect on environmental issues and present or represent their views, hopes, concerns, advice… through art, speaking, writing, drama, video, or meme. The topic for the 2020 event was Water.
EASL is partnering on this initiative with Environment Education Victoria, and Speaking 4 the Planet. The program is supported by funding from the Port Philip Bay Fund (DELWP).
We have made efforts for this program to comply with the social media guide set by the Department of Education.
